The latest update to Victorian Community School from the Department of Education is suggested that we continue to deliver classes online due to many children comes from different day school.

Please be advised that due to the lockdown all classes will need to
cease between Saturday 13 February 2021 and Wednesday, February  17, 2021 (11.59 pm)

To adhere to the suggestion our school has made the decision to continue to offer our classes online.   

​

Our school will reinforce the following when your child/ren attends the 3 hours of Chinese school. 

reinforced are:

• Wash hands regularly,

• Cough and sneeze into your arm or elbow

• Avoid  any unnecessary touching

• Watch out for the signs 
  Consider not holding large gatherings s

 

COMMUNITY LANGUAGE SCHOOLS

Our schools are not exempt from any of the directions given by Government. We must be adhered to these directions.

 

ACTIONS WILL BE TAKEN BY OUR SCHOOL

• If a child has been excluded from its day school for quarantine  purposes they must not come to the community language schools for that period

• Government is starting advice against large gatherings – In the school situation – school assemblies should cease

• Schools need to ensure all their data – contact numbers , emails to parents are updated

• Parents and students should be provided with updated advice

• If there a case is detected   you must advise the authorities  immediately and then follow  the steps to inform the school community

 

 

POTENTIAL SCHOOL CLOSURES AND CANCELLATIONS OF EVENTS

The  Australian Government has released a COVID-19 Emergency Response plan.

This plan entails measures that may need to be taken to contain the spread of COVID-19 within Australia.  The plan includes measures such as social distancing, which may include school closures. 

 

There is a likelihood that at some point COVID-19 may present within our school community and may involve a short-term school closure.  Schools should  follow all advice provided by the Government to prevent the impact to our broader community should this occur.

 

Watch For Symptoms and Report Absences During this time we ask all of our families to remain vigilant in checking for symptoms of COVID-19. 

 

Symptoms may include, but are not limited to;

fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue & shortness of breath. If these symptoms present please keep your child home from school and seek medical attention.

WE ARE PLANNING FOR SCHOOL CLOSURES  - What if y school has to close?

Community Languages Australia in partnership with Community  Languages Victoria has commenced discussions to have a platform in place where study  could continue via a virtual  classroom.

Step 1

To  developed a webinar to show instructors how use the ICT – Platforms – Zoom, WhatsApp Skype and others

Step 2

Provide advice on how to prepare classroom  materials.

 

These options are being explored  today

 

These are difficult times – but we need to act responsibly , as a community to :

 

a) try and stop and spreading  of the virus - Containment

b) if is spreads to be ready to act differently and provide students with an educational experience
